Once a year the Georgia chapter of Meeting Professionals International likes to acknowledge the best work of the events industry. They award the Phoenix (like the Oscar) to honor members for their contributions to GaMPI. Although they have always had an Academy Awards style dinner and gala celebration, this year marked their first Carnivale style masked ball, appropriately named “Le Bal Masque.” Attendees got creative with their black tie attire, and wore some pretty incredible masks…
Venician style meets disco in this beautiful mirrored mask.
Did you know the banner behind red carpet photos is called a “Step and Repeat Wall”? PWP Studio has had plenty of experience with paparazzi style photos, these were even more fun with the sparkley, feathery accessories! Thanks to the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre for hosting the event.
The live entertainment was courtesy of the dancers at BlocSouth, whom you’ve seen in the past two superbowls. As for the masked strangers…can you recognize some of the Southeast’s best and brightest when they’re incognito? How about when they’re breaking it down on the dance floor? Music provided by Lethal Rhythms and the Phoenix Awards emcees were Vicki Locke and Steve McCoy– as in The Steve and Vicki morning show!
Congratulations to all the winners! To see a full list of the events professionals awarded the Phoenix, visit GaMPI’s website.
