WM Events ant The Georgia Freight Depot have been quite friendly in months passed, and “Old South, New South” was was an exceptional event that garnered Allie Award nominations in three categories : Best Team Effort, Best Event Photography, and Planning Corporate/Association Event.

“Guests were invited for an evening of jazz n’ juleps, honey suckles n’ highballs, and bluegrass n’ BBQ. Juxtaposing classic Southern charm with modern urban beats, this event was a celebration of Atlanta,” said William Fogler. Pull up a seat, grab a mint julep, and we’ll share how this spectacular event unfolded.

Starting with a blank canvas of over 12,000 square feet, the WM Events teams jumped into action by separating the space – both indoor and outdoor – into lounge areas, dining areas, and entertainment spaces.

Peachtree Tents and Events were onsite to assist with the extension of the outdoor space; which added extra seating, cocktail space, and lounge areas. Soft uplighting and patio string lights added to the ambiance of Southern charm perfect for sipping sweet tea and mint juleps al fresco on a cool spring evening.PWP Studio photographers specialize in corporate event photography, decor, details, incentive travel, conventions, and on-location photography in Atlanta, Georgia

Partnerships : WM Events (part 1)

Since 2004, William Fogler and his crack team of creatives have planned, designed, and executed epic events at some of the most sought-after venues in Atlanta – The Georgia Freight Depot, Ventanas, and The Four Seasons to name a few. It’s been the privilege of the PWP Studio team to have been included in capturing the essence of events in a partnership with WM Events that grew from consistency, creativity, and trust.

The Georgia Freight Depot, the oldest building in Downtown Atlanta, recently housed three spectacular WM Events soirees – “Around the World“, “Transformation“, and “Old South, New South“. The decor for the “Around the World” event paid homage to various countries around the globe; and started in Atlanta where guests enjoyed Southern BBQ with all the fixin’s, jazz, luxury lounge seating and a patriotic color scheme of red, white, and blue.

Cuisine included sushi, nigiri, and maki rolls. Cuisine included lamb, tzatziki, olives, hummus, and feta cheeses. Earlier this spring, WM Events, Affairs to Remember Caterers, and PWP Studio teamed up again at The Georgia Freight Depot for “Transformation” – a multi-venue corporate soiree. The Depot was transformed from a blank canvas into a multi-use venue complete with dance floor, entertainment spaces, and multiple lounge areas. With the creative vision of the WM Events team, the results were nothing short of spectacular:

Top 5 Things Event Vendors Should Be Doing with Event Photos

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

We spend a TON of time here in the studio thinking about what to do with the images we capture – mostly because we have about a million just hanging around! Seriously, there are 363,000 on our server just from the last 12 months and we keep a running archive of the past 2-3 years at all times – that pretty much makes a million! You may not have a million images hanging around, but I bet you have at least few! (If not, we need to talk – for real)

Anywho, here are a few of the things WE, the image experts, think you should be doing with those fine images we capture of your amazing events!

Social Media Blast

The quickest way to get your event out there for all eyes to see is via social media – Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram. We like Instagram and Pinterest because they’re both photo-based platforms (perfect for photo-based life forms like us!) Don’t forget – tagging is probably the best ‘best practice’ out there for a few different reasons:

  • Tagging vendor partners’ account names directly is a great way to spread the love – maintain those relationships, people!
  • Hash-tagging your post with a hot trending topic (#caitlynjenner, #worldcup2015, etc.) will expose you to an expanded  audience; they might not be your target audience, but you might be able to pick up new fan followers when they stumble upon your post just because of those pretty pictures!
  • Hash-tagging your post with industry-niche-specific trending topics (#eventprofs, #corporateevents, #eventlighting) will expose you to a more specific audience of people hunting for your specific industry niche.

Feature on a Blog Post

A lot of work goes into planning and executing a memorable event – show it ALL off! Showing a behind-the-scenes look at the setup process, plus a before and after of the space can really give clients an idea about the process of putting an event together. Likewise, the devil is in the detail – featuring the fine details of an event and writing about how they ‘played’ into the overall theme is the perfect way to show prospective clients what you have to offer from a services and creativity point of view. Don’t be afraid to ‘geek out’ on a description of an event detail – clients and other vendors WANT to see your commitment to the overall design!

Award Entry

Submitting for awards isn’t just to gain bragging rights! There are many benefits to entering for awards including:

  • Boost in Reputation – existing clients gain reassurance that they’ve chosen a great vendor. Also, an award could set you apart in the market for potential clients.
  • Boosting Team Morale – employees enjoy working for successful companies. Also, winning an industry award affords you the opportunity to pat your team members on the back for a job well done; and recognize individual achievements.
  • Feedback from Industry Professionals – entering an event for an award, like the Allie Awards for instance, is a process that can result in great feedback from those judging.
  • Networking Opportunities – building a successful business means building successful relationships that result in trust. Attending awards ceremonies gives you the opportunity to build and maintain those relationships.

Fresh Images on Your Website

Don’t let your website get caught wearing yesterday’s fashions! Put those interns to work; and have them freshen up those image galleries. Aside from showing what’s new for this year’s soiree, you’re showing existing clients that you’re busy and keeping up with the latest trends in the industry.
